Dance From The Heart (DFTH) is a 501 (c) (3), tax exempt multi-cultural corporation organized exclusively for charitable purposes, utilizing performing and visual arts events as a means to increase the global cultural awareness of public and private citizens, in order to relieve human suffering.
- We began in 2005 with a benefit for the relief of victims of the Southeast Asia tsunami, through Oxfam America.
- In 2007, we continued to provide assistance by donating proceeds to Lighthouse Houston and the Alzheimer's Association.
- In 2011, the proceeds of our efforts will benefit a family in crisis, struggling to provide Alzheimer's care.
We provide contributing dancers the opportunity to receive continuing education through Artist In Residence Programs, ongoing classes and workshops designed to deliver focused, intense instruction over a short period of time. We encourage community relations, publich outreach and awareness by donating time and talent to local events whose underlying mission shares our goals.
The 4th Quarter of 2010 brings a new Intern and Scholarship Program, designed to assist college students seeking a degree in Dance or Theater. Made possible through private funds, we welcome Dayna Lock as our 2010/2011 intern!
DFTH is accepting applications from those interested in starting a local chapter in their area. Please contact us for more information on how to apply.
